After taking in the Manila Bay Sunset or singing along to an anticipated live act at the MOA Arena, the next attraction in the area is meant to refuel. There’s something for everyone and every craving at My South Hall, the newest food hall on the ground floor of S Maison by The Bistro Group and corporate executive chef Josh Boutwood.

It’s casual dining with elevated service and hip, modern interiors. All offerings are prepared fresh to order with prices from P35 for chicken skewers to P398 for a USDA Angus beef sirloin set hotpot that’s good for two hungry people, with a variety of drinks like milk tea and fruit juices to wine, sake, and beer. Don’t be overwhelmed by the options. Place your order, get your buzzer, and pick it up when it’s ready.

“We thought of the collective Filipino craving,” says Josh. “Everything here, I really enjoy eating. I love food halls because I have two kids: I have a 10-year-old and a three-year-old. They both have very different flavor palates. My daughter likes a lot of Western food; my son likes more Asian food, so I can come here and I know they’re going to eat something that they’re going to love and be happy together, and we sit at one table without having to go to different restaurants.”

The group already has the majority of their brands in S Maison, such as Texas Roadhouse, Red Lobster, Italianni’s, and Hard Rock Cafe. It isn’t the group or Josh’s first time in food courts and food halls, either. “To be honest, we could have cut it into multiple different concepts, but we thought, we’ve been in the business for 25 years, let’s have a go at it. It’d be great to experiment with different dishes that aren’t on our regular menus that we could have here and see customer feedback and create avenues for us to do things in the future for the other side of the company,” he says.

Josh just reopened The Test Kitchen in One Rockwell, but at My South Hall is the food he loves to eat when he’s not working.

Laid out with cozy banquettes, some partitioned with metal and glass frames for a bit of privacy, there are also tables and upholstered chairs for quick solo dining, or put them together for a big group, like a reunion with family or friends and colleagues where everyone can eat what they want. You can enjoy the view as the room opens up to a view of the Seaside Boulevard that runs through Manila Bay.
