MANILA, Philippines — Grand Hyatt Manila goes green by rolling out flavorful, mouthwatering, deceptively-delicious plant-based dishes together with the advocacy Green Monday.

A one-stop platform for innovative natural food products, Green Monday is started by Green Common, the partner and distributor to many global leading brands in plant-based natural food products, including the pioneering Beyond Meat.

With Beyond Meat’s wildly popular Beyond Burger patties and Beyond Sausage, the chefs of Grand Hyatt Manila is ready to serve the juiciest and most “sinful” plant-based burgers and sausages in town.

Pork lovers can also look forward to the chefs serving up well-loved pork dishes with Right Treat’s all-purpose plant-based pork.

Beginning this month, guests of Grand Hyatt Manila experience Green Monday at The Grand Kitchen where a section of the premier a la minute buffet will be decked out with sumptuous vegan and vegetarian options.

Can’t go on a Monday? Hotel chefs at the grill section can flip plant-based patties for you for a burger smothered in your favorite toppings.

“Making healthier choices easier for our guests is one thing, but add to that actually serving up choices that took into consideration your health, environmental impact, and sustainability is really going beyond just enjoying good food and enjoying food that is actually good for you," says Mark Hagan, executive chef for Grand Hyatt Manila.

Imagine tucking into a BBQ Cheeseburger topped with coleslaw, doused with BBQ sauce, cheese, onion rings and jalapenos, or biting into a Chili Cheese Dog with gochujang aioli, chili con carne, grated cheese and jalapenos, both equally juicy and bursting with flavors.

The difference this time is the burger and sausage you are enjoying are antibiotic free, hormone free, high in protein, no soy, gluten free, no GMOs, and with zero cholesterol in comparison to your regular burger.

"We are rolling out Green Mondays first and then gradually introducing more plant-based choices, and further expanding it into our six other restaurants,” Hagan says.

Green Monday is only one of the many environmental efforts that the hotel has undertaken to do its part for the environment.

The hotel has adopted practices such as replacing plastic straws, collecting items that can be donated and repurposed like Nespresso cups, collecting used coffee beans as fertilizer, or encouraging guests to bring their own tumbler for their coffee in the pastry shop.

Grand Hyatt Manila is home to a myriad of diverse restaurant concepts, each a pleasing journey to the palate. It hopes to support more causes with the launch of its Green Mondays at The Grand Kitchen, and eventually to its six other restaurant concepts: No. 8 China House, The Cellar, The Lounge, Pool House, Florentine, and The Peak.
