Michael Cinco's impalpable dream of love

MANILA, Philippines — During these trying times, fairytales can be a source of refuge and a spring of hope when there isn’t any.

Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco drew inspiration from the stuff “dreams are made of” for his new perfume collection.

Best known for his couture gowns worn by celebrities like Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue, and Britney Spears, this is Cinco’s second scent collaboration with Bench.

The fairytale starts out with a young man captivated by the beauty of a nymph, lost in a secret jungle. She is oblivious to her bewildered audience. Moving closer, the young man can almost reach out and touch her ghost-like figure but just as he is about to, she vanishes. All that’s left is the lingering scent of her on the tips of his fingers — a fresh yet unforgettable scent of flowers and citrus.

Devastated, the young man breathes in what’s left of the ethereal being he is so enamored with. At the brink of despair, he nearly collapses, only for his body to be supported by a familiar embrace from behind. A moment so tender, it can only be described as an impalpable dream.

Impalpable Scents — Impalpable Dream and Impalpable Eau de Toilette — takes inspiration from his whimsical interpretation of the fairytale, which was also made into film, which made its debut during the designer’s digital show for Arab Fashion Week on April 1.

Impalpable Men is a woody aromatic with grapefruit, lemon, jasmine and patchouli notes.

You can find both Impalpable Dream and Impalpable Men Eau de Toilette for P398 for 75ml in Bench/ stores nationwide or on shop.bench.com.ph.

A scent that lingers: Impalpable Dreams is a fruity aromatic with grass, rose, pear, and woody notes.
Male mystique: Impalpable Men is a woody aromatic with grapefruit, lemon, jasmine and patchouli notes.
