WATCH: Kiana Valenciano admits her fashion choices used to trouble her parents

MANILA, Philippines — Recording star Kiana Valenciano revealed that her dad, "Mr. Pure Energy" Gary Valenciano, is doing fine and is still recovering from a recent heart surgery.

"He is taking it one step at a time," Kiana told Philstar.com during the recent launch of Oxygen's new Coed collection.

The singer admitted that once in a while, she makes her mom and dad nervous — because of her "rebellious" fashion choices.

"It was only in college when I started wearing dresses. It was really like what dad wants to see her girl in a dress," she giggled.

Not only that Kiana confessed to be wearing daring outfits; she said she also borrows her brothers' clothes.

"Growing up kasi, I was bit of a tomboy," she professed. "I used to go to my brothers' closets and I would just wear their T-shirts."

Fortunately, through the new unisex COED collection by streetwear brand Oxygen, Kiana does not have to worry about borrowing her brothers' clothes; in fact, they too could borrow hers.

Jeff Bascon, Brand Director for Oxygen and Penshoppe, explained that the new collection celebrates equality and indivduality among all genders through shirts, pullovers, hoodies and caps with androgynous fits and in muted tones of white, black, dark gray, seafoam green, purple, and washed pink.

Besides Kiana, during the collection's launch, the brand also introduced streetwear personality Emily Oberg as its new ambassador. — Videos by EC Toledo IV
