When To Start An Anti-Aging Regimen

STYLE S.O.S. - Lucy Torres-Gomez, Rissa Mananquil-Trillo - The Philippine Star

Dear Rissa,

I’m in my 20s. Can I already start an anti-aging regimen?

Don’t be afraid to start early. Anti-aging is no longer a concern only for women in their 40s and 50s. Even women in their 20s recognize that this is a concern relevant to them.

They say you should start young to look young. Prevention is always better than cure. The way you care for your skin (or fail to look after it) will be the biggest indicator of how your skin will look when you get older. Find an anti-aging product that feels comfortable on the skin and you can imagine wearing every day. Being diligent going through reviews always helps make an informed decision. When you find a product you enjoy using and doesn’t feel like a chore, it allows you to actually commit to it and see relevant results.

For me, the best and most effective anti-aging regimen that you can start at a young age is to use daily sunscreen. A lot of women really take it for granted because you only see the impact of sun damage when you get older. You don’t want to stare at the mirror later on with years of regret.
