Salvatore Ferragamo launched its spring 2018 collection with flowers, flowers and more flower invasions, dahlings. Ultra-sophisticated floral patterns from Salvatore Ferragamo’s archive flooded a gorgeous botanical accessory collection of shoes and handbags, no less.

Super high-tech florets run through digital prints in the silk scarf laces tied at the ankle of patent leather sandals and open-toe F-heel wedges. Tuscan and English flora blossom on the uppers of mules, ballerina pumps and slingbacks atop the iconic Flower Heel designed by Ferragamo Women’s creative director Paul Andrew, inspired by the timeless design from the Ferragamo’s archives, no less.

Top-of-the-line gentleman of all seasons and style Ferdie Salvador inspired the invitees with a short talk saying, “This collection of geometric clutch bags features a hyper floral design and contrasting framed edge detail finished with either the iconic Gancini or silk scarf tie closure. And just to remind all of you Ferragamo followers and those interested, this #FlowerInvasion is also a communication project for Salvatore Ferragamo’s social media channels: a special story developed through images and short videos ranging from blossoming flowers to product galleries with floral backdrop,” he explained to applause from the invitees, palanggas.

A lawyer’s ‘Eye object’

Roberto De Santos, Fr. Bernard “Drans” Nolasco of Don Bosco, Atty. Senen Agustin de Santos, former Finance Usec Ruben Fruto

Dreams do come true, dahlings, through hard work and determination. Take it from Atty. Senen Agustin de Santos, a top-notch lawyer who owns and runs his own law office.

His “Eye Object” project derives a phrase that a lawyer might normally utter in court. However, the project title also captures the essence of the book, Objects of the Eye, which features images taken with his cellphone.

This abogado de campanilla took the enviable journey of an artist, armed only with his unique way of looking at the world and motivated by the desire to spot some kind of transcendent beauty. With no formal training in photography, and a Filipino-made MyPhone, De Santos began posting interesting photos on his Instagram account. With friends and followers egging him on, he has finally decided to collate, edit and publish his work. The book was launched at the Shang Salcedo Place with many legal luminaries and colleagues in attendance.

Part of the proceeds from sales of the book will go to the Resources for the Blind.

“I chose blind children as the beneficiary because they are not able to see the beauty of the world. The RBI is an NGO dedicated to blind and special children. We hope to set up four student resource centers for the blind in the country,” De Santos explained.
