MANILA, Philippines — Want to achieve your #BeautyGoals this year?

According to MTV VJ and Miss InterContinental first runner-up Katarina Rodriguez, “In order to find your inner beauty, you have to start with yourself. You have to know yourself. What inspires you? What makes you want to seize the day?”

Katarina, who has a double major in Business Management and Philosophy from De La Salle University in Manila, recently gave a talk on holistic beauty during the International Women’s Month celebration of footwear label Keds, which coincides with the brand’s launch of its pale iris sneakers collection available in leather.

She admitted that she used to stereotype beauty queens as shallow, until she became a beauty queen herself. Thus, during the talk, she gave suggestions on how to step out of negativity and how to treat people better – starting from yourself, to fellow netizens on social media.

Finally, from finding beauty from within, she spoke about finding beauty from others and around you.

“Holistic beauty comes in layers," she enthused. "Holistic is all around. It’s not only in the service but in the particulars of a person, from her mind, to her thoughts, to her soul and heart.”
