Rest is also good for the skin

STYLE S.O.S - Lucy Torres-Gomez, Rissa Mananquil-Trillo - The Philippine Star

Dear Lucy,

How come my skincare brand no longer works for me? It used to be so nice, and for years, it seemed to work just fine. Of late though, my skin is just thin and red and raw.

Tonette

Two things: First, make sure that when you apply creams, do so sparingly — not too much, not too little, just enough. Remember that just because it works well does not mean more of it will work even better. These things work best through time, so apply thinly, following the regimen prescribed for you.

Secondly, you may need to have a second set (perhaps a different brand) that works just as well for you. Sometimes, skin gets so used to one thing it gets tired. Just like a workout, you periodically have to shake things up a bit. Periods of rest for your skin will be good also, and especially because you mentioned that your skin is raw and thin, maybe you should leave it be for a bit to allow healing to happen. Eat the right food, too, because everything comes from within.
All that said, do consult a dermatologist as all that I shared with you is from personal experience.

Lucy
