Lunasol finds a delicious inspiration for its makeup collection

For its autumn-winter palette, Japan’s premier makeup brand Lunasol takes inspiration from chocolate — in color, texture, scent and taste.

Japan’s premier makeup brand Lunasol by Kanebo looks no further than everybody’s favorite guilty pleasure for its autumn-winter collection: chocolate. Not just ordinary chocolate, but the finest chocolate, implying a richness in taste, color, texture, and even packaging.

Lunasol’s approach to makeup and skincare has always been as “purifying makeup,” which means it also takes care of the skin on the inside it is beautifying it on the outside.

Its fall collection is no different. Known for its multicolor eyeshadow palettes in different gradations, the succulent textures make it easy to layer for a nuanced effect. This time, its delicious chocolate colors are scented with the bittersweet fragrance of chocolate.

You can choose from three different four-color eyeshadows. The first palette is Chocolat Blanc, with four nudes to leave the eyes looking sleek. The second is Chocolat Amer to create a dramatic look with deeper colors. The third is Chocolat Raisin, whose colors carry a hint of mauve to bring out an elegant and feminine look.

For this season, it is also releasing three limited-edition, two-color eyeshadow palettes. The sets feature contrasting colors for a little bit more drama and definition. There’s Chocolat Pistache, Chocolat Framboise and Chocolat Orange.

Lunasol likens the color sets to “the rich, mouth-filling flavor of chocolate melting in your mouth” and they even smell like the bittersweet fragrance of chocolate.

Define your eye makeup even further with its Styling Gel Eyeliner. Coming in three colors (deep black, dark brown and light brown), Lunasol’s eyeliners are easy to use and stick to the skin for a look that lasts for hours as they are resistant to perspiration, and they come with an adjustable applicator tip.

The chocolate taste comes in two new limited-edition lipsticks. While the new collection features six colors, two will leave you biting your lips for that chocolate taste — Creamy Mocha and Mauve Cacao. The other four colors are Soft Brown Rose, Rose Pink, Soft Beige and Pink Beige. Lunasol’s lipsticks have a velvety-smooth texture with lustrous colors.

The new collection spoils the lips so much with three additional limited-edition liquid lipsticks that taste and feel like melting chocolate. Featuring three new bittersweet shades of Milk Chocolat, Brown Chocolat and Pink Chocolat, you can wear it alone or layer it with the lipsticks.

For the cheeks, Lunasol turns to the season of cold for inspiration — when your cheeks look like you’ve just come in from outside and they’re naturally blushing. You can have that kind of blush all day long with its cream cheek sponge. Using a sponge for a moisturized yet dry-to-the-touch finish, you can add a natural, translucent coloration in three shades — Soft Pink, Soft Orange and Chocolat Beige.

If there’s anything to look forward to now and in the next months, it’s looking as joyful and as beautiful as the Christmas season.
