Hana’s no-filter beauties are dressed to thrill

#NOFILTER - Chonx Tibajia - The Philippine Star

The thrill that usually goes with fashion week came early this year at the Hana launch, in Makati Shangri-La. The Rizal Ballroom had the same tense, creative energy as a high school cafeteria in a John Hughes flick — Preview girls on this table, Mega girls on that, Metro ladies on another. In the unique coming together of these tastemakers, Hana, a product from Japanese beauty brand Shokubutsu, announced its arrival in local fashion in style. The brand brought together the top three local fashion magazines and partnered them with three sought-after designers — Preview with Joey Samson, Mega with JC Buendia, and Metro with Randy Ortiz.

The collections spoke volumes of the current aesthetic of each magazine with classic looks from each designer. Samson created edgy looks in starchy, minimalist white, playing with loose and boxy silhouettes; Buendia presented feminine but structured corporate wear in shades of blush, browns, olives and grays; while Ortiz channeled ‘50s glamour with dramatic noir evening wear, with Hana endorser Olivia Medina closing the show.

Front and center, of course, was the hair. In line with Hana Shampoo’s latest campaign called #NoFilterBeauty, each show had their own unique way of showcasing each model’s locks and the designer’s looks. Preview opened the segment by celebrating healthy beauty, highlighting hair with streaks of light cutting through a pitch-black stage. Styles were loose, natural and bouncy, while makeup was kept at a minimum, focusing on glowing skin. Mega took cues from modern oriental influences for its “modern-ethereal” theme, with modern interpretations of the geisha chignon and high ponytail with more height and volume. Hair was paired with pastel eyes and matte almond lips on dewy-perfect skin. Metro matched Ortiz’s looks with soft pin curls and sexy, structured waves that models let loose and tumble down their backs during the show. Makeup was dramatic with sexy eyes and red lips. Each publication encouraged people to submit unfiltered selfies depicting their most natural self, in line with Hana’s belief that natural is always best.

Nature in hair care

Harnessed from nature by the technology of LION Japan, Hana believes in hair and body care the way nature intended it to be. Hana products are made with 100 percent natural cleansing and moisturizing ingredients to achieve another kind of beauty called Healthy Beauty.

Hana recently entered the Philippine market offering hair and body care products that provide natural solutions. The Hana shampoo line has three variants — Soft and Silky, Anti-Dandruff and Anti-Hairfall. All shampoo variants contain sophora root extract, which helps extend the hair’s natural growth cycle and improve blood circulation to maintain a healthy scalp. To complement the shampoo, Hana provides added care with is Smooth and Soft Conditioner.

The Hana brand extends to body care with body washes in easy-rinse formulas containing 100 percent natural cleansing ingredients. Hana Body Wash comes in three variants — Citrus Sensation, Sakura Bloom and Floral Delight, while Hana Hand Wash comes in Liquid and Foaming variants.
