Give your hair va va voom volume

HI, REGINA!

I don’t think that my hair will ever be capable of achieving va va voom volume, but it’s just so, so limp! What can I do to give it a little more body?

You might be using too much product and weighing it down, so check your shampoo and conditioner. Variants that are for making hair silky and smooth are usually heavier, so consider switching to one that’s specifically for creating volume. Also, you might want to try not conditioning every day (if you do), or skipping nourishing oils and rich styling products.

You can give your hair a boost by spritzing on a little lifting spray on your roots (Kiehl’s has a great volumizing root-lifter) and blow-drying bent over, brushing your hair upside down.

DEAR LUCY,

I want to buy clothing that I can get a lot of mileage out of. If you were to buy five new things for your own wardrobe now, what would they be? I love your style!

1. A navy or deep purple dress in silk crepe. Noel Crisostomo (you can reach him at 09178001622) will make it for me in a cut that skims the body and it will be an alternative to the requisite little black dress.

2. A knee-length pencil skirt. I will never have enough of this. It can go with pieces you already own, like silk blouses and knit tops, but you can also wear it with a tight sweater and pearls.

3. A luxurious jumpsuit. It can be one in silk, or one with a black long-sleeved sparkly top that dissolves into a solid back button, cinched with a belt.  

4. A dress with a peplum skirt. It makes the waist look tiny!

5. White agate drop earrings from Jul B. Dizon. They go with everything and are a must-have.
