Inno Sotto Thirty Twenty Ten: 'A proud night for the Filipino'

-

MANILA, Philippines - Imelda Cojuangco: Inno Sotto is the brightest star of Philippine fashion. The show was the pinnacle of perfection, with the understated yet elegant clothes shown off by his beautiful models, the magnificent set designs and the music. It was truly an enchanting evening.

Nedy Tantoco, president, Rustan’s: Inno’s show was a reaffirmation of his remarkable creativity and enduring talent. It was a proud night not only for Inno but also for Rustan’s where he is creative director. I am glad he is launching his Muse RTW line at Rustan’s soon. It’s about time.

Gaita Fores: Inno’s genius overflowed at the CCP that evening. The collection left me speechless many times. His having been able to present it in a flawless production on that stage only proves that his talent has transcended fashion as a medium to much, much more.

Lizzie Zobel: Inno Sotto’s show was extraordinary. It was a testament to an artist and a master. In his elegant and gentle way, he challenges us to view fashion as he does — an art force.

Kitkat Zobel: All I can say was bravo, bravo, bravo! From beginnng to end. Clearly, Inno has outdone himself once more. Inno kept us all in awe.

Patxi Elizalde, Sofia Zobel-Elizalde, Monica Zobel, Bea Zobel, Inno Sotto, Christian Zobel, Jaime Zobel de Ayala, Bea Zobel Jr.

Jaime Zobel de Ayala, chairman emeritus, Ayala Corporation. What an incredible show! Our heartfelt congratulations. World class. We were all enchanted.

Bea Zobel: Congratulations, Inno! Your show was exquisite in taste and made us dream awhile.

Bea Zobel Jr.: The world-class winning combination of Inno Sotto with set designer Gino Gonzalez and choreographer James Laforteza as well as Ballet Philippines and Airdance dancers made for a night to remember.

Sofia Zobel-Elizalde: I applaud Inno for taking fashion to a whole new level. His use of film, set design, dance, and lighting has set him apart from other designers. I also have to applaud the incredible team of Filipino artists that Inno chose to collaborate with — Albert Martinez, Floy Quntos, Gino Gonzales, James Laforteza, and Katsch Catoy. Inno and his team took us on a beautiful journey. Bravo!

Anton Huang, EVP, Stores Specialists Inc.: Inno, my heartfelt congratulations for such a beautiful show. It was truly inspiring.

Nina Huang: Inno, you were absolutely breathtaking. It was just splendid. A work of art.

Virgie Ramos, president, Gift Gate: I can’t think of a better tribute to Inno’s genius than the standing ovation at the CCP of people dressed up in black tie and gowns on what could have been just another Sunday night. It all looked like part of the film — the dance, the theater on stage.

Joey Antonio, president, Century Properties: Good fashion, great and creative production. We should have more shows of this caliber in Manila, for these help establish us as a chic cosmopolitan city. The show exuded Inno’s passion for excellence.

Lucien DyTioco, Milette Belmonte, Miguel Belmonte, Regina Belmonte, Isaac Belmonte

Miguel Belmonte, president and CEO, Philippine STAR: Truly a delight for the senses. I couldn’t take my eyes off the stage. Totally awesome!

Isaac Belmonte, editor in chief, Philippine STAR: The show reminded me of a Broadway-like production with its big sets and tight performance, with salvo after salvo of amazing Inno Sotto designs and a bevy of futuristic-looking beauties modelling them.

Tessie Sy-Coson, vice chairman, SM Investments Corporation: It was a great show and a very good collection. The colors and the lines were outstanding.

Ben Chan, creative director, Bench Group: Inno has outdone himself once again. I salute his artistry that has encompassed three decades of unparalleled excellence.

‘A visual feast...that touched your soul’

Benedicto Coyiuto, head, Audi Philippines: The Inno Sotto 30th anniversary show was truly amazing. Two thumbs up for the elegant and spectacular program.

Imelda Trillo, senior vice president, BPI: When I met Inno Sotto more than 25 years ago, he was already ahead of his time. And seeing his show at the CCP, I realize he’s still in a class all his own, one with such sheer elegance and simplicity.

Pamen Elizalde: The dresses were gorgeous and very wearable.

Rhoda Campos: It was a showcase of the master that is Inno. From the sculptural volume done with delicate grace, the complex draping that was truly magical, to the film that was a visual feast, to the moving musical score, and the dances that touched your soul.

Sevrine Miailhe: It felt like a journey through Inno’s mind. Absolutely mind-blowing!
