Something old, something new at Vintage Restore

-

MANILA, Philippines - There is a treasure chest of vintage, antique, and estate pieces at Vintage Restore called Our Treasure Trove. Trisha Cruz-Cuason, co-owner of Vintage Restore (the two others in the stylish trio being enterprising mom Edna Cruz and Trisha’s younger sister Lally Cruz-Dizon), started selling these one- of-a-kind pieces through the Internet and by meeting up with clients at their Jupiter store. She set up a small antique jewelry stand inside the store where every piece has its own story to tell.  There are antique creolla earrings from the 1890s, Rosita and Lansadera rings from the 1930s-1950s, amber, turquoise and enamel bracelets from the 1960s-1980s. There are rings with century-old stones, which came from Pakistan and Afghanistan.  Rare enamel pendants with religious icons from the 1920s-1960s as well as cameos with different designs and ornate settings are also displayed in the store. Old tambourine with relicario necklaces are also best-sellers.

On the other hand, putting her best shoe forward is Lally Dizon, with her shoe-pretty line that she launched late this year to complement her bag line.

Says Lally, “I design all the shoes and they are made of leather, suede, snake. They are proudly Philippine-made and all are my original designs. I usually have a limited stock, maybe six to 12 pairs for each style with two colors. I also accept made-to-order but only of the same styles. Also, if the client’s size is out of stock already, or if the client has a size too big or too small or half sizes, or if the client specifies a different color.”

Of course, through the years, Vintage Restore has been known for its beautiful repair jobs on signature bags. The story goes that one high-end brand of bags trusts only Vintage Restore to repair its clients’ damaged/old bags. Vintage Restore’s highly trained workers show their expertise with each exquisitely restored bag. VIP clients personally come to Vintage Restore to bring their priceless designer bags. At Vintage Restore, everything old is new again.

There’s something old, something new, and old stuff given a new lease on life by the creative mother-daughters team at Vintage Restore.

Vintage Restore is located at the second floor, Doña Consolacion Building, 122 Jupiter St., Makati Avenue with telephone number 890-4326.
