MANILA, Philippines - Soon-to-weds can now make their dream weddings come to life with a little help from the wedding master — Themes & Motifs.

Themes & Motifs ensures that couples planning to tie the knot get tons of ideas as well as the latest international wedding trends and styles through the trade events that it produces and organizes.

From Sept. 5 to 6, escape into a fantasy world filled with fab frocks, elegant cakes, one-of-a-kind invites, and lovely blooms as Themes & Motifs-The Special Events Company presents Wedding Expo Philippines at the PICC Complex, Pasay City.

The wedding fair features over 300 top professionals in the wedding industry such as fashion designers, jewelers, caterers, florists, pastry chefs, photographers, and videographers, among others.

Smart Shot Studio is one of the wedding fair’s major participants. The photo studio popularized the mystical lighting technique.

“Mystical lighting is the ability to control the light while taking a photograph. It fixes exposure problems and brings out the detail in areas that would have been lost…putting light where you want it,” explains Lito Genilo, the man behind Smart Shot Studio.

Genilo also pioneered the “trash the dress” concept, which means ravaging the wedding dress. This is done after the wedding day in the most unconventional settings — on a haystack, submerged in water, even in mire — to “signify the couple’s artistic expression of being free and liberated from all the wedding preparations and stress.”

Another of his ideas is “paintography,” which turns photographs into works of art.

Genilo received two Accolades of Excellence in the 2009 Wedding and Portrait Photographers International Awards of Excellence 16x20 Print Category held early this year at the MGM Grand Hotel and Conference Center in Las Vegas.
