Miss Universe appoints Nawat Itsaragrisil another regional exec role
MANILA, Philippines — The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) is entrusting coordination to a majority of its participating countries to one of its primary executives, Nawat Itsaragrisil.
The pageant's executive director and president of Miss Grand International was recently appointed chief executive officer of Miss Universe Eastern.
In this role, Nawat will "lead the Miss Universe Eastern team, representing 95 countries, and guide the organization's continued growth, regional development and international collaboration."
MUO cited the expanded leadership was a result of Nawat's tenure as Vice President of Miss Universe Asiana.
After acquiring the Miss Universe Thailand license last year, Nawat has since become the national director for the franchises in regional neighbors Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia and Singapore.
Nawat said in a statement that he was "deeply honored and delighted to assume" his new position, calling it "an exciting opportunity to build upon [MUO's] strong foundation."
"We will strengthen collaboration, create new opportunities for our delegates and partners, and continue advancing the values and global vision of Miss Universe," he also said. "I look forward to leading this talented team into its next chapter of growth and success."

Joining Nawat in executive positions of Miss Universe Eastern are Monil Hathi as Managing Director and Pavan Misra as Head of Sales.
The three will "provide coordinated leadership for Miss Universe Eastern and work as one unified team to serve the needs of customers, National Directors, delegates, partners, broadcasters and stakeholders throughout the Eastern region."
Misra is MUO's Director of Broadcast and Content Sales and the designated contact person for sponsorship rights, broadcasting rights, digital voting and partnership rights, host country opportunities, and other commercial collaborations.
He will also oversee the coordination of commercial opportunities relating to the 75th Miss Universe pageant taking place in Puerto Rico later this November.
Hati, meanwhile, is also the Managing Director for MUO and the sole authorized signatory for JKN Legacy, Inc. or JKN Universe LLC d/b/a Miss Universe Organization for agreements to be executed in accordance with the applicable Corporate Affidavit and Board Resolution.
Jakkaphong "Anne JKN" Jakrajutatip and Raul Rocha Cantú are the current owners of MUO through their respective companies JKN Global Group and Legacy Holding Group USA Inc.
Bea Millan-Windorski is the Philippines' representative to the diamond edition of Miss Universe, where she hopes to take home the country's fifth-ever title.
