Gallery News: ‘Manila, My City at War!’ at Ayala Museum

MANILA, Philippines - Filipinas Heritage Library marks the 70th year of the Battle for Manila with “Manila, My City at War!,” which opens tomorrow at the Ayala Museum, Makati Ave. corner Dela Rosa St., Makati City. The show runs until March 3.

The event features a mini conference and exhibit featuring a sample of the library’s Roderick Hall Collection on World War II, along with artworks, photos, maps and other artifacts from varous sources that aim to show the various losses brought about by war.

To be presented by academics, cultural advocates and war survivors, the conference will take place on the Saturdays of February at 2 p.m. Speakers include Prof. Ricardo Jose, Gemma Cruz, architect Augusto Villalon, Juvenal Sanso and Nick Deocampo.

Admission fee per day is P300 for regular guests and P150 for teachers, librarians, students, senior citizens and members.

‘Timeline: 25 Years of Visual Retrospect’ at Art Center

Art Circle Gallery marks its 16th anniversary with a commemorative exhbit, “Timeline: 25 Years of Visual Retrospect,” which is on view until Feb. 10 at Art Center, fourth floor, SM Megamall A, Mandaluyong City.

The show features a panoramic view of Art Circle Gallery portfolio over the course of its 25-year history.

The gallery’s main collection features the works of Nestor Leynes, Manuel Baldemor, Larry Memije, Noel Mahilum, Jeff Dizon and Blaine San Luis, among others. Other featured artists are Joel Mahilum, Lito Barcelona, Nell Campos, Anton Mahilum, Raul Patindol and Eberle Catampongan.

‘Different Strokes 2’ at Forum Robinsons

Forum Robinsons hosts “Different Strokes 2,” a painting and sculpture exhibit which is on view until Feb. 9 at the mall’s Fountain Area.

The event also marks the partnership between the League of Mandaluyong Artists and Forum Robinsons.

Free workshops on Basic Therapy Painting, Basic Watercolor, Basic Oil Pastels, Soft Pastels, Arts and Crafts, and Sculpture are offered at 3 p.m. until Feb. 7.
