Gallery News: ‘Betsy Westendorp + Igan D’Bayan’ at The Crucible

MANILA, Philippines - Betsy Westendorp and Igan D’Bayan are featured in a back-to-back exhibit, which opens tomorrow, 6 p.m., at The Crucible, fourth floor, SM Megamall A, Mandaluyong City.

The show, on view until June 30, is a juxtaposition of contrasting styles, philosophies and techniques.

‘The Real H.R. Ocampo’ at Ayala Museum

The works of National Artist H.R. Ocampo are featured in “Images of Nation: The Real H.R. Ocampo,” which opens today, 6 p.m., at the ground floor lobby of The Ayala Museum, Makati Ave. corner De La Rosa St., Makati City.

The artworks, culled from the Paulino and Hetty Que collection, will be on view at the Third Floor Galleries until Nov. 17.

Manuel Valcárcel and Alejandro González in ‘Memories of a Pilgrimage’

The Embassy of Spain in the Philippines, Instituto Cervantes de Manila, the Spanish Tourism Board, the Tourism Board of Galicia, Ateneo de Manila University and Shangri-La Malls present “Memories of a Pilgrimage,” an audiovisual exhibition that reflects the recent journey made by photographer Manuel Valcárcel and musician Alejandro González, both native Galicians, along a pilgrimage route that boasts a long-standing history buried deep in the roots of tradition.

After two years of its own pilgrimage to several countries (Croatia, Bulgaria, France, New Zealand and Australia, among others) the exhibit finally lands in the Philippines.

The photo exhibit opens today, 7 p.m., at the atrium of the Ateneo Professional Schools Campus, 20 Rockwell Drive, Makati City, and is on view until June 24. “Memories of a Pilgrimage” moves to the east atrium of Shangri-La Mall, EDSA corner Shaw Blvd. from June 25 to July 4.

In collaboration with Ateneo de Manila University and Shangri-La Malls, the Embassy of Spain in the Philippines, Instituto Cervantes de Manila, the Spanish Tourism Board and the Tourism Board of Galicia bring an exhibit that reflects the cultural wealth of a Europe that has grown up around the Pilgrims’ Way to Santiago de Compostela.

‘Points of Sentiments’ at Hiraya Gallery

Julio Jose Austria’s most recent works are featured in “Points of Sentiments,” which are on view from June 25 to July 25 at Hiraya Gallery.

“Points of Sentiments” is a visual outpouring of Austria’s reflections on the human life and its journey, the perception of an individual’s destiny based upon the patterns of the events that unfold continuously amidst the streams of people moving on with the flow.

Art Workshop at Galeria de las Islas

Galeria de las Islas holds its 2013 Art Workshop starting July 13 and continues for eight sessions on July 14, 27, 28, Aug. 10, 11, 24 and 25 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Kris Jan Gavino, a finalist in many major art competitions and an experienced art facilitator, is one of the instructors.
