Grupo Reposo holds street art festival

MANILA, Philippines - Grupo Reposo presents its ninth street art festival titled “Sining Kalikasan sa Reposo” which will be held on May 18 and 19.

Grupo Reposo Street Art Festival is celebrated in conjunction with the Araw ng Makati celebration, with the blessing of the city government and Barangay Bel Air. It is partly funded by the National Commission for Cultural and the Arts (NCCA) through a grant as well as other donors and sponsors like LRI and the SMDC Jazz Residences.

At the Sining Kalikasan sa Reposo fest featured are musical luminaries such as renowned concert pianist, dean of the Conservatory of Music of University of Santo Tomas (UST) and president of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Dr. Raul Sunico; violinist Coke Bolipata with his Camerata; mezzo soprano Clarissa Ocampo from Boston; PhilBanda Wind Orchestra under the baton of Dr. Herminigildo Ranera; Banda Kawayan of PUP; ventriloquist Wan Lu; and other outstanding alternative musicians such as Joey Ayala, Bayang Barrios and Lolita Carbon, among others.    

At least between 17 to 20 contemporary visual artists will paint on a large canvas right on Reposo St. Other free activities include lectures or workshops on art, French film-showing, plus a food bazaar and expo.
