A wonderful Ideé!
Rica Lorenzo Davila is best known as the chairperson of her family’s holding company, with businesses in agriculture, real estate, trading and finance. She is also chairperson and CEO of their subsidiary that owns and manages a fruit growing and export business based in Mindanao. Rica’s daughter, Cecilia, is an aspiring entrepreneur whose background is marketing and communications. What will certainly be news is that both mother and daughter have teamed up to create Ideé — a collection of wearable, stylish RTW for men and women.
Many of Ideé’s designs are inspired by traditional Asian attire, especially Japanese and Filipino, but made to look modern without being trendy. The colors are mostly black and gray for the knits, and muted shades of silver, gray and mauve for the woven pieces.
Ideé’s clothes are versatile, travel-friendly and easy to wear for day or night. The cuts and silhouettes are meant to be flattering to women of all ages, shapes and sizes. Each piece has a special twist or a detail that makes it unique and unexpected — seams worn on the outside, sleeves or panels of different lengths, drawstrings on one side or on one shoulder to allow the wearer to customize the final shape according to what makes her most comfortable or look her best. These details make the clothes look different in a special way, yet they are still easy to look great in, coordinate or mix and match with other pieces and accessorize to reflect the wearer’s personal style.
For its men’s line, Ideé carries its own leather bags, belts and accessories that go well with various Ideé outfits.
In the works are plans for Ideé to carry footwear as part of its collection. Apart from its home collection, the team is excited to explore new talent and showcase designs from other upcoming and contemporary designers.
