A fruitful journey
The Divine Healer Academy of Sorsogon held its seventh Closing Exercises last March 22, on Holy Tuesday morning. It all began with a thanksgiving Mass celebrated by the school chaplain Fr. Nestor Benavides and the loving school founder Fr. Gerard Deveza, who is fondly called Tatay by the students.
All throughout the jubilant double celebration, which included the Grade 6 graduation rites plus the completion ceremony of the Grade 10 students, Father Gerard was aglow with sheer pride for his beloved children as they received their diplomas, completion certificates, medals and awards.
What a journey it has been for all those lovingly involved in this special mission school located in beautiful Sorsogon. This school was founded in 2002 by Father Gerard with the active participation of The Sister Servants of the Divine Healer, the Healing Servants Foundation and so many kind friends he has met along the way. School directress Sister Odelia Golloso, SSDH congratulated all the graduates, completers, parents, teachers, staff and benefactors.
“Let us be people of faith, hope and love,” Sister Odelia said. “Let us mirror God’s great love and mercy in our humble and joyful service to others especially the poor and wounded. The Divine Healer Academy of Sorsogon is a dream come true because of the precious gifts of beautiful and loving people.”
Sister Odelia and Father Gerard continue to express their prayerful gratitude to all the kind and generous hearts who are constantly with them, year after year, on this fruitful journey.
