From Japan emerges another treasured name, one that embodies the same spirit of omotenashi (Japanese hospitality), innovation and excellence — Paris Miki.

The premier eye care provider and optical clinic in Japan, Paris Miki prides itself in crafting stylish products that suit your specific needs. From handmade, custom Japanese frames, top-of-the-line lens, and state-of-the-art technology used to design eyewear, the eyewear company delivers on quality, excellence and personalized service.

A reflection of this commitment to “customized and personalized service,” each of the different shops of Paris Miki (858 stores in Japan and 185 stores worldwide) exude a unique look and feel, appropriating the vibe and personality of its environment.

In Kichijoji, Japan, the boutique is decorated in Victorian flair, reminiscent of Belle Epoque art, with the entire retail space bathed in soft light and elegant interiors. While the Paris Miki store in Singapore, on the other hand, embraces the youthful energy of the vibrant city through the use of bright, bold colors.

Come February 2016, you’ll be able to revel in the Paris Miki experience when it unveils its flagship store in the Philippines, at the Conrad Hotel, Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.

Breaking ground

It was in 2013 when Paris Miki first considered expanding in the Philippines. After typhoon Yolanda, the company volunteers took part in rehabilitation efforts in Tacloban, offering free optical service and eyewear to survivors.

Seeing how the generosity and hospitality of the Filipino resonated with their own, Paris Miki was encouraged to further nurture a relationship with Filipinos. In the following months, Paris Miki decided to make a new home in the Philippines.

The heritage of Paris Miki

When Yoshio Tane, a Japanese entrepreneur, first established Paris Miki, then known as Seikakudo Tokeiten, in 1930, he had a clear vision for his company, which was to provide the best optical care and service in the world.

Originally, Seikakudo Tokeiten sold and repaired eyewear, watches and precious metals in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture. In 1960, it was later renamed to Miki Optical Inc., when Tane decided to focus exclusively on eyewear retailing.

In 1973, the first overseas subsidiary of the company was established in Rue de L’Opéra in Paris, paving the way for Paris Miki’s presence in key cities in Europe, Asia and the US.

Now, 85 years later, Paris Miki has become synonymous with premium Japanese luxury and excellent customer service. This, in thanks, to its founder’s commitment to putting its clients’ needs first.

“The essence of the company is to enable people who have trouble seeing and our mission is to resolve each customer’s difficulties and problems, and to provide services that exceed our customers’ expectations,” says Hiroshi Tane, Yoshio Tane’s son and now president of Paris Miki Holdings Inc.

Distinguished design

In just 85 years, Paris Miki has built a sterling reputation, and has placed itself in a class of its own with unique services. It promises a premium luxury experience, from the moment you step into the glittering expanse of the boutique, to the excellent after-sales service.

Continually seeking and adopting innovation, the company uses the state-of-the-art Mikissimes Design system, a patented Paris Miki technology first introduced in 1994, which incorporates artificial intelligence with computer graphics to recommend the perfect eyewear for you.

By simply encoding your preferences into the Mikissimes Design system, Paris Miki will curate a special selection to find the perfect fit and frame that flatters your face and fits your personality.

Style connoisseurs who seek more fashion-forward designs will also delight in the company’s vast selection of frames, which features hundreds of designs from established global brands as well as exclusive selections by the company’s in-house designers. There’s even a special Hello Kitty collection for its avid fans.

Customers with more eclectic tastes and who would like to design their own, one-of-a-kind eyewear may do so through Paris Miki’s custom design service.

As testament to the quality of their products, the eyewear company also guarantees lifetime servicing, cleaning and eyewear adjustments at no cost for all purchased eyewear.

Greater vision

The eyewear company also advocates true change in the industry through its Okayama New Vision Club. This group of leaders and professionals convene regularly to discuss new technology, innovation and trends in the market.

In 1989, Paris Miki also established the Paris Miki World Optical College (WOC), a premier academic institution in Okayama, Japan that offers world-class programs in optometry. WOC has successfully trained and molded hundreds of students to become this generation’s leading optometrists.

With its growing reach across the globe, and with a strong legacy that has remained faithful to the vision of its founder, Paris Miki looks forward brighter future.
