Engineer Juanito P. Rosales received the entrepreneurship award from the Kampon ni Pakakak, the oldest (established in 1922) prestigious civic organization in Batangas, at the Manila Polo Club, Forbes Park, Makati City.

The award was presented by Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Manahan Año, former Vice President Jejomar Binay, Gov. Hermilando Mandanas and 97th KNP president Joey Leviste.

Rosales also received the Outstanding Thomasian Engineer Award from the UST Faculty of Engineering; Gawad Sinop Award from the Philippine Institute for Supply Management, and a plaque of recognition as Outstanding Alumnus of Bauan High School, where he was the commencement speaker during its 52nd commencement exercises.

Rosales, who was also recognized for his achievements in entrepreneurship and as an outstanding engineer, is “ truly a person to emulate. He’s hardworking, dedicated and disciplined.”

Rosales graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering at UST, and finished his MBA at the Ateneo de Manila University and completed an executive program on Supply Chain Management at the University of California in Los Angeles.

Rosales family: Mikey, Gilda, Xavi, Mylah, Jonathan, Jillian, Jasmin, J.P. Ria, Betty Nitoy, Tristan and Allan

We were told that engineer Rosales rose from the ranks in Ayala Land Inc. to become the vice president for Strategic Procurement. He was proud to negotiate the retention of the Makati Stock Exchange in Makati from its impending transfer to Ortigas.

He helped overcome difficulties in the construction of the US Embassy in Manila. He was also the one who pioneered the global e-sourcing and e-bidding system in the country.

Now, that is kind of hard to beat, palanggas.
