“Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy.” — Ludwig van Beethoven

The Johann Strauss Society of the Philippines Foundation Inc. (JSSP) recently held its annual gala concert at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La Manila. The event, dubbed the “Wiener Ball,” was adapted from a real grand social event in Vienna.

Under the indefatigable leadership of JSSP chairman Monaco Consul General Fortune Ledesma, president Olga Martel, event chairperson and vice president Gambia Consul Agnes Huibonhoa and co-chairpersons Tanzania Consul Betty Chua and Virginia Lane, the glitz-and-glamour occasion was graced by distinguished ambassadors and their elegant spouses.

The evening was a celebration of classical music under the baton of maestro Peter Ritzen, much to the delight and enjoyment of everyone. After indulging in the heavenly melodies, guests were treated to a lavish dinner, the perfect way to cap off the evening. All of the proceeds from the event will go to JSSP’s various beneficiaries, one of them is the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Congratulations to the Johann Strauss Society of the Philippines Foundation Inc. for yet another successful fundraiser!
