Rains expected as amihan, easterlies persist

MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon or amihan and the easterlies are expected to bring cloudy skies and rains across the country, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
In its weather forecast on Tuesday, February 4, PAGASA said the amihan may affect portions of Northern and Central Luzon while the easterlies may affect the rest of the country.
Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora and Quezon may anticipate cloudy skies with rains due to the amihan with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are expected in Metro Manila, Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon and CALABARZON due to the amihan.
Meanwhile, Surigao del Sur, Davao Oriental and Davao de Oro may expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
The state weather bureau warned residents of these areas of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of the country may also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur during severe thunderstorms.
