4 Pinoys injured in Iran’s retaliatory airstrikes on Israel

MANILA, Philippines — At least four Filipinos were injured and hospitalized in Israel after Iran launched retaliatory drone and missile strikes over the weekend, the Department of Foreign Affairs said.
The victims were from the city of Rehovot, which is about 20 kilometers away from Tel Aviv.
Meanwhile, some 30,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWS) in Israel and Iran are advised to take necessary precautions amid the intensification of the conflict between the two countries.
Iran has launched missile and drone strikes in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem after Israel attacked several Iranian nuclear facilities and military sites.
Migration expert Manny Geslani said OFWs in Israel working mostly as caregivers and those in Iraq who are employed in companies and factories should be aware of air raid sirens and the nearest bomb shelters.
Geslani also called on the Philippine government to ensure the safety of Filipinos working in US bases in Iraq who are in grave danger should Iran launch further missile attacks.
According to him, the OFWs were hired by the US military to handle the maintenance and logistical needs of the US troops based in Iraq.
The Department of Migrant Workers has already alerted OFWs in Israel, Iran and other Middle Eastern countries, reminding them to call DMW hotlines if necessary.
