Angkasangga up in party-list survey 30 days before polls

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — With just 30 days to go before Filipinos cast their votes, Angkasangga Partylist (#107 on the ballot) is gaining serious ground, rising fast in the latest OCTA Research survey and becoming one of the most talked-about and trusted party-list contenders this election.

The independent, data-driven insights from OCTA Research reflect what many Filipinos already feel on the ground: it’s time to give real representation to the riders and informal workers who power the nation every day.

At the forefront is first nominee, George Royeca, CEO of Angkas, whose work has transformed the lives of over 50,000 motorcycle riders through a model that prioritizes safety, stability and inclusion. But Angkasangga is much bigger than Angkas; it’s a platform for the 18 million Filipinos who use motorcycles for livelihood: from habal-habal drivers and delivery riders to TODAs and other informal earners.

“Filipinos are waking up to the truth; our riders and informal workers aren’t just part of the economy, they keep it alive,” Royeca said. “This rise in support tells us the people are ready for real solutions and real voices in Congress.”

Angkasangga’s legislative agenda is focused and urgent: the Motorcycle Taxi Law, a separate law for delivery riders and a Magna Carta for TODAs. These measures aim to finally give structure, protection and dignity to sectors long left behind by traditional policy.

Public support has only grown stronger thanks to the endorsements of well-known figures like the Recto family – Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, Vilma Santos-Recto, Lucky Manzano and Ryan Christian Recto – as well as former Manila mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, who calls Angkasangga “Yorme’s Choice.” And at the heart of it all is Vice Ganda, the “Unkabogable Kasangga,” who has championed the party-list from the very beginning.

But the true driver of Angkasangga’s momentum? Ordinary Filipinos. Through Kalye Kasanggaan, town halls and ugnayan sessions nationwide, Angkasangga has shown that it listens, learns and acts. Offering real, grounded representation for those who’ve long been ignored.

As the countdown to May 12 continues, Angkasangga is accelerating fast, riding on a wave of trust, track record and a clear vision for uplifting the Filipino working class.
