OCTA: 12.3% nationwide positivity rate
MANILA, Philippines — The COVID-19 positivity rate nationwide is at 12.3 percent as 1,000 to 1,200 new cases are expected today, the OCTA Research group said.
OCTA fellow Guido David, in a tweet yesterday, said “18,256 active cases, 12.3% nationwide positivity rate. 409 cases in NCR (National Capital Region). Expecting 1,000-1,200 new cases.”
Last Friday, OCTA said the daily new COVID-19 cases being logged in Metro Manila are up to 411 per day from 264 a month ago or on Nov. 3.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health (DOH) yesterday reported additional 1,173 COVID-19 cases, bringing to 4,041,023 the total number of the highly infectious disease in the country.
The DOH noted that of the total caseload nationwide, 18,256 are active while 3,958,042 have recovered from the disease.
The number of those who
succumbed to the infection rose to 64,725.
The National Capital Region (NCR) posted the most number of new cases in the last 14 days with 4,824 followed by Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) with 2,009 and Central Luzon with 1,025.
The hospital bed occupancy rate is now at 24.1 percent while the cumulative positivity rate is at 13.8 percent. – Mayen Jaymalin
