Over 2,700 undelivered passports ready for pick-up
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) yesterday said thousands of undelivered passports are ready for pick-up at its consular offices.
A total of 2,739 passports processed from July 7 to Nov. 30, 2021 are now available at the designated claiming sites, Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs Brigido Dulay said.
These include those that were processed at the temporary off-site passport services sites at the SM Mall of Asia, Newport Mall, Glorietta 3, Robinsons Las Piñas and San Pedro, SM Aura, Robinsons Magnolia, SM North EDSA and SM Downtown Olongapo.
Dulay said the passports were undelivered due to wrong addresses, no response or lack of authorization from the owners when it was delivered.
He reminded those who have unclaimed passports to reach out via email to the designated claiming site first to verify its availability.
“Do not proceed directly to the releasing site. Wait for confirmation that your passport is available to be claimed,” he said.
DFA consular offices are closed until Jan. 20, he added.
