5,828 new infections bring Philippines coronavirus caseload to 1.53M
MANILA, Philippines — Local health authorities on Thursday reported 5,828 more COVID-19 infections, bringing the national caseload to 1,530,266.

More local cases of Delta variant detected; 1.5-M more Sinovac doses arrive

The Department of Health said it detected 12 new local cases of the highly infectious Delta variant of COVID-19.

Six of the new cases were from Central Luzon, three from Metro Manila, two from Calabarzon and one from Bicol Region, DOH said.

The new cases bring the total number of Delta (B.1.617.2) variant cases in the Philippines to 47 — 8 of them are classified active.
