Uniform quarantine rules eyed for all vaccinees

MANILA, Philippines — The National Task Force against COVID-19 Technical Working Group is formulating quarantine protocols that can be uniformly applied to Filipinos vaccinated in the Philippines and abroad, NTF chief implementer Carlito Galvez Jr. said Friday.

“Once an OFW (overseas Filipino worker) is vaccinated abroad and it was validated that they were really vaccinated, he or she will have the same quarantine control with those vaccinated here in the Philippines,” Galvez said during the vaccination of Philippine Stock Exchange employees.

“They will follow the same quarantine procedure of seven days and we are looking at some sort of testing. These are all being studied and considered,” he added.

Galvez said the proposed guidelines are still being deliberated on by the Task Force, as it continues to look at the best vaccine practices of other nations which can be applied in the Philippines.

He said the crafting of these quarantine protocols would be among the issues to be discussed during consultations with experts from Israel’s Ministry of Health. The delegation is scheduled to arrive in the country next week.
