Robredo, staff get first dose of AstraZeneca in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo received yesterday her first AstraZeneca shot in Quezon City, describing her experience as “seamless,” and urged Filipinos to have themselves vaccinated against COVID-19.

“Done with my 1st dose of the vaccine. Now being monitored. Everything has been seamless. We booked at QC Protektado site via EZ Consult last May 13 for an appointment today,” Robredo posted on her personal Facebook page.

She added that there were 18 of them from the Office of the Vice President (OVP) who went together – all of them under the A3 category of people with comorbidities. Earlier, Robredo declared she is hypertensive.

In her Facebook post, Robredo shared photos and said that some members of the OVP staff were at first hesitant to get vaccinated.

“With me in the picture is Julius, one of our office drivers. He didn’t want to get vaccinated before. It took a long time to convince him. He said he will just resign. Now, we’re done, and he is happy,” the Vice President said.

She encouraged the public to be vaccinated against COVID-19 at the soonest chance they get.

“Get vaccinated so that you and everyone you come in contact with are protected,” she said.
