Robredo plans to turn Swab Cabs into vaccination cabs
MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo is planning to convert her office’s Swab Cabs to vaccination cabs to increase the number of people who will be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Robredo noted that not all citizens, particularly those in the priority sector in the vaccination program, are capable of registering online.
“If we have sufficient supply of vaccines, we will convert the Swab Cab into vaccination cab for those who cannot register online,” Robredo said over dzXL on Sunday.
She said apart from health workers and senior citizens, those who should also get the vaccines immediately are market vendors and drivers of public utility vehicles.
“These workers are also vulnerable aside from health workers and senior citizens… If we can find partnerships with LGUs (local government units) we will offer that (vaccination cab) service,” she said.
“We are very much willing to help in the rollout of the vaccines,” Robredo said.
The Office of the Vice President, in partnership with the private sector, launched the Swab Cab last month to provide free antigen tests to residents in areas of the National Capital Region Plus – which includes Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Bulacan –with high cases of COVID-19.
