MANILA, Philippines — Demand for home-based caregivers in the country is growing amid the continuing rise in COVID cases, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reported yesterday.

Data from the DOLE’s Bureau of Local Employment from April 23 to 29 showed 150 vacancies for home-based caregivers.

The data came from the Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) of different local government units nationwide.

Aside from home-based caregivers, the demand is also high for laborers, customer service assistants, computer graphic artists and domestic helpers with recorded openings ranging from 300 to 500 slots.

Other positions included in the top 10 vacancies are receptionists, technical support staff, heavy equipment operators, delivery drivers and office clerks.

The PESOs recorded a high demand for cashiers, service crew, couriers, wholesale and retail trade salesmen and quality control assistants.

There are also vacancies for production helpers, teacher assistants, artist-illustrators, baggers and production engineers.

DOLE said the number of vacancies is based on data entered in the PESO employment information system, the database for jobseekers, employers, vacancies and client transactions.

Jobseekers may apply for vacancies by visiting the nearest PESO in their area.
