Robredo turns 56 in isolation
MANILA, Philippines — Despite testing negative for COVID-19, Vice President Leni Robredo spent her 56th birthday yesterday in self-isolation upon the advice of her doctor.
Robredo said she received her negative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) result on Thursday.
The Vice President went on quarantine last week after her close-in security tested positive for the virus.
“Got my negative RT-PCR result just a few minutes ago. I quarantined strictly inside my bedroom for seven straight days,” Robredo said in a post on Facebook on Thursday night.
“The minute I got the result, I went down to greet a Happy Birthday to our Rocco. He is five now. Time really flies,” Robredo said, referring to their pet dog.
“Even if I tested negative already, I was advised by our doctor to finish at least the 10-day minimum quarantine period. The eight days passed by so swiftly because we’re all immersed with our Bayanihan E-Konsulta operations,” she said.
The Bayanihan E-Konsulta offers free tele-consultation service for outpatient needs.
On Feb. 16, the Supreme Court, sitting as Presidential Electoral Tribunal, dismissed former senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s poll protest against her for lack of merit.
