Fair weather expected in Metro Manila today
MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila will have generally fair weather today although some localized thunderstorms may bring clouds and rains, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
The northeast monsoon and the tail-end of a frontal system persist over the eastern sections of Central and Northern Luzon, bringing moderate to heavy rains in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region and Central Luzon and Quezon province.
A low-pressure area was also spotted 190 km west of Puerto Princesa City as of 3 p.m. yesterday and is not likely to develop into a tropical depression. Still, it continues to bring light to moderate and sometimes heavy rains over the island of Palawan.
The low-pressure area was expected to dissipate in the 24 hours.
PAGASA advised the public and local authorities to continue monitoring rainfall warnings and prepare for possible flooding and rain-induced landslides.
Temperatures in Metro Manila are expected to range between 24 degrees to 30 degrees Celsius.
A gale warning was also issued over Ilocos Norte, Batanes and Cagayan, including Babuyan islands.
