MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has advised government offices to implement alternative work arrangements for their officials and employees while the community quarantine is in effect to stem the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Alicia dela Rosa-Bala, CSC chairperson, said this setup will be up to April 14 or until the community quarantine order is lifted.

The announcement was addressed to heads of all constitutional bodies, bureaus and agencies of the national government, local government units (LGUs), government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) and state colleges and universities (SUCs).

The CSC said the government offices would have the discretion to formulate their respective alternative work schemes such as a skeletal workforce, work from home, compressed workweek and staggered working hours. – With Rudy Santos
