MANILA, Philippines — The University of the Philippines is among the top 500 universities in the world, according to a London-based international league table.

The annual Times Higher Education world rankings put the Philippines’ premiere state university in the 401 to 500 bracket. Almost 1,400 institutions across 92 countries were analyzed in the rankings.

In 2019, UP placed in the top 600.

De La Salle University also appeared in the 2020 table, placing in the 1001+ bracket. In 2019, DLSU ranked in the 801 to 1000 group.

THE assessed universities based on 13 performance indicators in areas of teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.

Oxford University in the United Kingdom topped the latest list for the fourth year in a row. Completing the top five were the California Institute of Technology, University of Cambridge, Stanford University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
