MANILA, Philippines — Some parts of the country will continue to experience rains enhanced by the southwest monsoon or habagat prompting some local government units to cancel classes for Monday, September 9.

PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said the southwest monsoon affects northern and central Luzon.

He added that the state weather bureau is monitoring two weather systems, Typhoon Faxai and a low pressure area outside the Philippine area of responsibility. The typhoon is not expected to enter PAR.
