Duterte meets Jackie Chan

BEIJING – President Duterte’s visit here gave him an opportunity to meet not just with Chinese leaders but also with martial arts star Jackie Chan. 

Photos released by the office of senator and former presidential aide Christopher Go showed Chan giving the President an autographed copy of his book and a Unicef panda toy. 

The President was also seen checking out a laptop and listening to a story being shared by the actor. Another photo showed Duterte, Chan and Go showing the President’s trademark fist gesture. 

Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo said the meeting happened at the President’s hotel room. He said he did not recognize the “Rush Hour” actor because “he looked different in person.”

Go said Duterte had expressed readiness to accompany Chan when he brings his charity works to Southeast Asia.
