HERO Foundation marks 31st anniversary

MANILA, Philippines — Founded in 1988, HERO (Help, Education, and Rear Orphans) Foundation Inc. celebrates its 31st anniversary this August. Rooted in its cause to uplift the lives of children fallen Filipino soldiers have left behind, the foundation continues its mission to provide educational support to military orphans.

Through the years, HERO Foundation has been working with everyday heroes – individuals, corporations and private organizations to help with tuition and other expenses related to education – transportation and dormitory fees, school supplies and school projects, of military orphans. 

“We are very grateful that more and more partners have embraced the cause of being heroes to our heroes’ children.  This National Heroes’ Day, we would like to give them tribute for honoring the legacy of our military who have sacrificed their lives so that we can continue to live in peace,” the foundation said.

The following partnerships have been forged this month with these new ‘heroes’: Army Navy’s’ Limited Edition Canteen for P600 (available from Aug. 1-31; for every order, P10 will go to HERO Foundation), Da Gianni’s and Trattoria Da Gianni’s House Specials (available from Aug. 1-31; for every order, P50 will go to the foundation), Forza Sports Foundation’s Bayani Run (to be held on Aug. 25 at CENTCOM Camp Lapu-Lapu, Lahug, Cebu City), Resorts World Manila’s Run With Me X (Aug. 25 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds),  Maestro Fernando Sena’s Art Workshop (Aug. 25 and Sept. 1), Heroes Hotel Fundraising Drive (donation boxes and cans are deployed within their premises), and HERO’s Lazada Flagship Store (vouchers for donation are available for purchase).

“On behalf of the more than 400 HERO scholars nationwide, thank you for helping us secure a better future for the military orphans, for bringing hope to their lives, and for giving them the extra push to do more and dream more,” HERO said.
