MANILA, Philippines — The Senate  committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs on Wednesday began its second hearing in an inquiry into students who allegedly went missing after being recruited by leftist activist groups.

Two of the allegedly missing activists have already appeared in public to say they are okay and are not being held against their will.

This is a joint hearing by the committee on public order chaired by Sen. Bato Dela Rosa and the Committee on National Defense and Security led by  Sen. Panfilo Lacson.

The first hearing was held on August 7, where parents of the alleged missing students aired their grievances.

Dela Rosa said last week that the supposed practice of recruiting minors from colleges and universities must stop.
