MANILA, Philippines — Power interruptions in various parts of the country marred yesterday’s midterm elections.

The Cebu II Electric Cooperative Inc. reported at around 8:45 p.m. that a transformer burned out, causing a “total blackout” in Daan Bantayan, Medellin, Bogo and San Remegio.

Bangkal Elementary School in Makati City experienced a power interruption while votes were being counted last night, according to GMA News.

Bacolod City also experienced a blackout at around noon, dzMM Teleradyo reported.

A netizen reported at around 8 p.m. that poll precincts were still open in Motibot, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte when they experienced a power interruption.

Netizens also reported outages in Balingasa, Quezon City; Puerto Princesa, Palawan; Santa Rosa, Laguna, and Sibuyan Island in Romblon.
