Duterte: Paperwork and Django Unchained
NADI – President Duterte is resting in Davao City, enjoying movies on Netflix.
The President sent his photo by Viber – in his bedroom beside yesterday’s newspapers while watching “Django Unchained” on Netflix – to Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, who is in Nadi, Fiji for the 52nd annual Board of Governors meeting of the Asian Development Bank.
Puyat was in the middle of an interview when Duterte rang her up. She asked him about stories that he had not been seen in public for the past five days.
He reportedly told Puyat that he had been resting at home and enjoying movies on Netflix.
“Bakit, Sabado naman, masama ba manood ng (Why, it’s Saturday, is it bad to watch) Netflix?”
He then had his photo taken in his bedroom and sent it by Viber to Puyat.
His absence from Malacañang for several days had raised some questions anew on what he has been doing since returning from Beijing last week.
Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo said Duterte has also been looking at tons of paperwork that needed his attention.
“He has plenty of work. There are so many papers to sign. He has a lot of papers to review that’s why he is just staying there (at his place),” he added.
Duterte was seen reading a copy of The Philippine STAR early this week in his Davao residence through a photo posted by his partner Honeylet Avanceña. He is expected to hold a Cabinet meeting this week. He may also call a monthly command conference with the police and the military.
On May 11, Duterte is set to give the final push for the senatorial bids of administration senatorial candidates during the miting de avance at Quirino Grandstand in Manila.
