Palace suspends work in government on December 26
DAVAO CITY, Philippines — There will be no work in government offices on Dec. 26.
President Duterte issued a memorandum circular yesterday, signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Midealdea.
The memorandum was issued to allow government employees full opportunity to celebrate the holidays with their families.
Malacañang earlier suspended work on Jan. 2, 2019.
“In order to give the employees of the government full opportunity to celebrate such holiday with their families and loved ones, work in government offices throughout the country, including government-owned or controlled corporations, government financial institutions, state universities and colleges, local government units and other agencies and instrumentalities, is hereby suspended on Dec.26, 2018,” the memorandum read.
The same order, however, excludes state agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services.
