Palace: No whitewash in Nicanor Faeldon probe
“We assure (you) that there will be no whitewash of the ongoing investigation, in adherence with the administration’s firm resolve to curb illegal drugs in the country,” presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo said, as he reiterated that President Duterte’s campaign against drugs favors no one, not even friends and supporters.

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang yesterday vowed no whitewash in the investigation on the possible drug links of Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Nicanor Faeldon’s son and namesake who was arrested in a drug raid in Naga City along with several others.

Panelo said Faeldon deserved commendation for taking a principled stand of distancing himself from the investigation and for letting authorities do their job without interference.

He also lauded Faeldon for offering to resign if the allegation against his son is proven true.

“I’m sure if the evidence warrants, he enforcer – police enforcer will be filing appropriate charges. We don’t know yet what exactly happened,” Panelo said.

He said the Philippine National Police (PNP) relayed to the Palace a spot report on the arrest carried out by the police together with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
