DPWH to close parts of major roads in Metro Manila for repairs

MANILA, Philippines — Sections of several roads in Metro Manila will be closed over the weekend to give way to roadworks, the Department of Public Works and Highways announced Friday.

In its advisory, DPWH said road reblocking and repairs will start at 11 p.m. Friday and will last until Monday.

Motorists are being advised to use alternate routes and avoid the following areas:

Southbound

  • C-5 Road after Lanuza Avenue
  • C-5 Road near SM Aura (second outermost lane)
  • EDSA Sct. Albano – after Sct. Borromeo (third lane from sidewalk)

Northbound

  • EDSA before Oliveros Footbridge (before Globe Master second lane before Times St., before UCCP first lane)

DPWH also announced proposed restoration or concreting works in the following areas:

  • Roosevelt Avenue (northbound) cor. Baler St. (first lane from sidewalk)
  • West Avenue (southbound) Baler St. to Examiner St. (first lane from sidewalk)
  • Visayas Avenue (northbound) Road 1 intersection (half to second to third lane from sidewalk)
  • Commonwealth Avenue near pedestrian footbridge and near Jocfer Bldg. and along Comm. near N. Zuzuaregi St.

All affected roads will be fully passable by 5 a.m. on Monday.

The Manila Water Co. Inc., meanwhile, will conduct pavement restoration (one lane enclosure) in from of Solace along C-5 southbound on 10 p.m. Friday. It will be passable starting 4 a.m. on Monday.
