MANILA, Philippines — Several organizations and volunteers have called for aid for those hit by the flooding and onslaught of Typhoon Ompong (international name: Mangkhut.)

According to the agency, at least 39,824 families or 137,994 persons are being housed in evacuation centers in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Cordillera, Ilocos, Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon.

Organizations then launched donation drives for evacuees and residents from typhoon-hit areas. They are also calling for volunteers who can help repack relief goods for victims of the typhoon.

Among the relief goods requested from the public include canned goods, instant noodles, bottled water, first-aid kits, sanitation needs, clothes, flashlights and cash donations, among others.
