LIST: Malls offer free parking, stay for stranded residents

MANILA, Philippines — A number of malls opened its doors to the public amid the flooding in some areas in Metro Manila.

Ayala Malls, SM Marikina, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls and Robinsons Malls through its social media accounts said they are expressing concern to those affected by floods and are opening its malls as shelters to stranded residents.

Likewise, these malls announced that they are waiving their fee for parking spaces.

The malls noted that this is applicable from August 11 to 12 but is subject to extension.

Several areas in Metro Manila and Luzon experienced heavy flooding on Saturday due to the incessant rains enhanced by Tropical Storm Yagi, which was assigned the name “Karding” while it was inside the Philippine area of responsibility.
