PAGASA warns of heavy to intense rains in Luzon on Sunday
MANILA, Philippines —The state weather bureau on Sunday warned the public of heavy to intense rains in some parts of Luzon.
PAGASA said heavy to intense rains with lightning and strong winds due to thunderstorms are expected over Bulacan and Laguna.
These weather conditions are also being experienced in Bataan, Metro Manila, Rizal, Batangas, Cavite. The rains may persist within two hours and may affect the nearby areas.
“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” PAGASA said.
PAGASA weather forecaster Meno Mendoza early Sunday said the southwest monsoon is enhanced by Tropical Storm Yagi, which was assigned the Philippine name “Karding” and had left the Philippine area of responsibility on Tuesday.
Mendoza said PAGASA is also monitoring Tropical Storm Leepi last seen at 2,230 kilometers of extreme northern Luzon.
