Leni Robredo keeps good public satisfaction rating

MANILA, Philippines — Public satisfaction with Vice President Leni Robredo remained “good” in the second quarter of the year, according to the latest survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS).

The poll, taken on June 27-30, found 54 percent satisfied and 22 percent  dissatisfied with the performance of Robredo, resulting in a net satisfaction score of +32 or “good.”

The Vice President’s net satisfaction rating, however, was down by two percentage points from +34 (57 percent satisfied, 23 percent dissatisfied) in March 2018.

Her net satisfaction rating stayed good in balance Luzon, although down by five points from +38 in March to +33 in June.

It stayed moderate in Metro Manila, despite dropping by two points from +16 to +14.

Robredo’s net satisfaction rating rose in the Visayas from good +47 in March to very good +50 in June.

It stayed at moderate +26 in Mindanao from March to June.

By socio-demographics, Robredo’s net satisfaction rating rose to moderate +10 from neutral +3 among classes ABC and from good +45 to very good +55 among class E.

Meanwhile, 67 percent expressed satisfaction with the work of Senate President Vicente Sotto III, while only 12 percent were dissatisfied with him, for a net score of +54, classified by SWS as “very good.”

This was the first rating for Sotto.

Sotto’s net satisfaction rating was highest in Metro Manila at very good +63, followed by balance Luzon at very good +59, the Visayas at very good +53 and Mindanao at good +38.

It was at very good +59 in overall urban areas and good +49 in overall rural areas, and very good in all classes – highest in classes ABC at +65, followed by class E at +57 and class D at +53.

By gender, it was at very good +60 among women and good +48 among men.

It was also very good in all age groups, ranging from +51 to +60.

By education, it was highest among elementary graduates at very good +59, followed by high school graduates at very good +56, non-elementary graduates at good +45 and college graduates at good +44.

Ousted speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, meanwhile, obtained a final net satisfaction score of a neutral +8–31 percent satisfied and 23 percent dissatisfied.

It was up by seven points from his personal record-low neutral +1 (31 percent satisfied, 29 percent dissatisfied) in March.

Alvarez’s net satisfaction rating rose from neutral to moderate in Mindanao, up by 26 points from -2 in March to +24 in June.

It stayed neutral in balance Luzon, from -1 in March to +4 in June. It also stayed neutral in the Visayas, from +7 to +9.

In Metro Manila, it remained neutral, although down by 11 points from +8 in March 2018 to -3.

Among classes ABC, his rating improved from neutral -1 to moderate +28 and class E from neutral +2 to moderate +11.

Acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio received a net satisfaction rating of moderate +11 in the second quarter survey of SWS.

Thirty-two percent were satisfied with his performance while 21 percent were dissatisfied.

Compared to when it was last surveyed, Carpio’s net satisfaction rating rose by one grade from neutral to moderate, up by eight points from +3 (29 percent satisfied, 25 percent dissatisfied) in August 2012 to +11 in June 2018, the SWS said.

Carpio’s net satisfaction rating rose from neutral +2 to moderate +13 in Metro Manila.

In Mindanao, it rose from neutral to moderate, up by nine points from +4 to +13.

It also rose from neutral to moderate in balance Luzon, up by eight points from +3 to +11.
